Fran Ng is a freelance writer and illustrator producing assorted publications for various clients including nonprofit organizations. She has published seven children's books to date. For Tahanan Books she wrote The Brothers Wu and the Good Luck Eel, Once Upon a Time (Hans Christian Andersen Tales), and Long Ago and Far Away (Grimm Tales). For the same publisher she also illustrated 500 Words & Pictures: My First Bilingual Visual Dictionary (English/Filipino). Fran has also written and/or illustrated Sabrina's Cookbook Diary, Windows in the Sky, and 10 Must-Read Greek Myths for Witman Publishing in Hong Kong. She has received three National Book Awards from the Manila Critics Circle and won first place in the Palanca Awards for The Brothers Wu and the Good-Luck Eel. Her short fiction, "Nenita's Flight," placed third in the Philippines Free Press Literary Awards of 2005. Fran has served as editor in chief of Summit Media's Real Living Magazine. She has also taught English at the Ateneo de Manila University.
